Gwillim’s Carlinville “World of Large Cars” 2009

Just returned from my good friend Mickey Gwillim’s show. I spent 3 days there this year and really enjoyed it. It is my favorite show so far this year. Amazing trucks and really great people. It got off to a bit of a rocky start for Mickey when he broke the air hoses on his drop deck as he pulled out of his driveway. This locked up his brakes and the trailer was blocking traffic in both directions. Rich Starks backed his tractor under the drop deck and cleared up the problem. I had a chance to meet Austin Harrison, a 14 yr old custom truck enthusiast from Osmond Ne. He chose this show over Walcott because he saw the trucks from last year in LCM. I photographed him with Steve Hendershot in front of Steve’s Aerodyne. Also pictured is my good friend Barry on the back of Beerman’s rig.

So if you can make it to the show next year, Mickey is planning on having it the Weekend of the 17th of July 2010.
