New year, new gear. Leica S2 System

I have been shooting with this new Leica,37 MP system the past few days around the neighborhood. I look forward to using it along with my Canon set up on a big shoot starting this week. I have found it is very easy understand if you are familiar with shooting 35mm DSLRs. I owned a Leica M-6 ten years ago and loved it!

USC Alumni Magazine Winter 2011

This feature on these Language Academy students was shot back in August. They are from various
countries around the world and are thriving in this program offered by USC. This is probably the best feature story I have shot
for the university. It features Surachart Ratchajanda from Thailand, Norio Kaji from Japan, Dilyara Kenzhegaliyeva from Kazakhstan and Mazin Alahmadi from Saudi Arabia. This is a really special group of students who will be very successful in their chosen fields down the road! Thanks to Sheharazad Fleming, the fantastic new Art Director at the magazine for hiring me to shoot this story. All the best in 2012!

Genlux Melissa Farman Interview

Hello,
I thought this wouldn’t make it in before the end of the year but here it is.
I shot this image of Melissa, who will portray Bristol Palin in the upcoming HBO Film “Game Change”
next month. This was shot for Genlux back in October here in Hollywood. Much thanks to my great stylist Lindsey Dupuis! Melissa Farman is young, but very interesting and has already been in the hot ABC show “Lost”. I believe she will become
more well know in the years to come for sure. You heard it here 1st!

Lowell Davis and Red Oak II

If you ever find yourself traveling on Route 66 near Joplin Mo. make sure to check out Red Oak 2 The force behind this historical part of the Midwest is Lowell Davis, a very talented artist who built this small town in a cornfield. Here is Lowell and Miss Agnes on his front porch as we were on our way to a different location while shooting the 4 State Trucks 2012 Calendar

and here are some of the building Lowell has moved into this neighborhood over the years.

Here is a great quote of the artist explaining his take on art:

“I don’t believe that an artist should be restricted to use only paint or clay. It can be anything including junk, wood, even an old building. To me, Red Oak II is a combination of a painting and a sculpture, and it is just made from things that someone else threw away.”

Please, you owe it to yourself to check out this small town and stop by Lowell’s house in the middle of it all and say hi. He is super creative and fun to talk to and loves Aussies. He has met people from all over the world who make the trek across the country on this very famous road.
